The sidewalk chalk came out after classes ended early when, four years ago today, the protest march passed their school. We talked about what was going on. I told them no one could reasonably disagree with this statement about a man’s unexplained death in police custody, because the number-one job for police is to keep people safe.

Eggplant, blueberry, red onion, yellow onion & turmeric, spinach, paprika, and beet. Can’t say it’s cheaper than food coloring, but it’s definitely more fun.

They were collected from the Cacapon River, attached to this rock, and we shall see what happens as we keep cycling in river water, hoping they’ll hatch. Any thoughts on what they are?
