The Free State has a new glossy monthly magazine, Maryland Leaf, that readers can see online here. The ones you can hold – “the Leaf will be covering the entire state beginning with 15,000 monthly copies,” writes founder and editor-in-chief Wes Abney – are available at dispensaries and doctors’ offices. A subsidiary effort of Abney’s established Northwest Leaf, the new mag is edited in Maryland by Michael Hughes, a magician and (full disclosure, of course) longtime friend of mine. Congrats to Leaf! Now, back to baking cornbread while it snows …
